Rikke (Isabel Vibe) is writing a new book and she's behind schedule. So she decides to get out of the city and try writing in Dokka, the remote countryside where she was born. It should provide ample inspiration. Rikke goes to her deceased parent's old cabin where she soon gets unwanted attention from local goons, including an old 'barely forgotten' childhood friend and his mentally disturbed buddy. Rikke is mercilessly raped, beaten and left for dead [in fact she IS dead] but manages to return to exact vicious revenge.

Some people have chastised the film for ripping off I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE and LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. But they seem to be missing the point. Here is an effective Grindhouse shocker from Norway (the very first one from that country) and the original moments far outweigh any similarities to other films. In fact, it's refreshing to see ANY new ideas flourish in this rather exhausted genre [with a nod to the equally unique I'LL NEVER DIE ALONE from Argentina]. In many ways, this is a brilliant motion picture managing to survive in the Me Too movement. Albeit, not for everyone. But still brilliant.
