(164) IMMORALITY (1978) Lisa Gastoni in Lolita-styled shocker
Italian title L'IMMORALITA (The Immorality) Also known as THE COCK CROWS AT ELEVEN
director: Massimo Pirri
starring: Lisa Gastoni ·
Howard Ross · Karin
is a pedophile confronted by the police in a shootout after the murder
of a young girl. Wounded, he escapes into a marshy woods. He's rescued
and given shelter by a 12 year old girl named Simona. They begin a secret
relationship in a cabin adjacent to the main house on the expansive estate.
Their love affair is interrupted by Vera, the girl's depressed [and oversexed]
mother, who concocts a plan for Federico to kill her wheelchair-bound
husband. However, Simona does not like the idea of losing her new boyfriend
What a depraved shocker!
A stellar cast, music by Ennio Morricone, cinematography from Antonio
Margheriti's cameraman Riccardo Pallottini. Yet, here's a perfect example
of a decade where 'anything goes' in Italian cinema, as the studios
pushed the envelope as far as conceivably possible.
This would be Italy's
Golden Globe winner Lisa Gastoni's final movie for 30 years, until her
return to the screen in 2010 (with the cocaine fueled COCAPOP).
She is probably best known to genre fans for the similar mignotta
[litle girl] movie SEDUCTION
and Giulio Petroni's LIPS
OF LURID BLUE. Of course, much controversy surrounds young Karin
Trentephol as this remains her only acting performance. Renown cinematographer
Riccardo Pallottini immediately followed this film with LIBIDINE
[Lust], the sleaziest of the sleaze.
Italian film with optional ON/OFF English subtitles; widescreen format,
uncut 106 minutes, DVD Package encoded for ALL REGION NTSC FORMAT.
Extras include theatrical trailers.
