uncut, here is Gustav Ehmck's controversial story of 15 year-old Sophie
(Gerhild Berktold) who manages to escape from a strict orphanage to
find greater abuse and terror on the streets of Munich. Important
notice: This is a rough film. "Visually the movie goes
beyond the limits," writes one International critic. "One
explicit rape scene follows another. Sophie's body is dragged around,
beaten, raped and dragged around again. You get only mere glimpses on
her personality hidden behind that surface." But, then, that's
the point of Gustav's uncompromising film. Isn't it? Simply
put, this is not for everyone. The movie is a grim portrayal,
more shocking, more offensive, more infuriating than most any other
film with this subject.
