When they investigate the mountainous site of a meteor crash, a group of soldiers find themselves face-to-face with a giant monster. In the scrimmage, team scientist Ye Qin is killed by the creature. Her fiance´ Qin Yang, the head of the unit, is injured but manages to escape. Overwhelmed with grief, he drops out of the army and tumbles into depression. Meanwhile, the military team - now controlled by Gu Ping - continues the scientific research behind-the-scenes hoping to fuse the genes from the unknown beast to create a "Zero" dragon creature. The result of this experiment is the creation of numerous monsters that are unleashed on the city.

This is the follow-up to Shixing Xu's debut project BLOOD ALLIGATOR. He is quickly becoming the premiere FX master for the new wave of Chinese monster flicks. The story here (while competent and more intricate than most genre films) is secondary to the monsters and the mayhem they create.
