American CIA agent Bob Fleming is sent to Europe to track down a missing microfilm that seems to be in the hands of two Russian scientists who, reportedly, want to defect to the United States. But before Fleming can find them, they are both assassinated. Now he must follow the clues to find the stolen microfilm before a variety of villians get their hands on it. This leads to one adventure after another in an explosion of gunfire, car chases, lethal gadgets and - of course - deadly women.

Many International critics call this 'the best of the Euro spy genre.' Richard Harrison, an American actor making movies in Italy since 1961, turned down the starring role in Fistful of Dollars to be in this film. Legendary scriptwriter Ernesto Gastaldi had convinced him to join the production after learning powerful producer Luciano Martino was going to personally direct the movie. Luciano Martino [incidentally married to Edwige Fenech, the brother of director Sergio Martino and the head of Dania Studios] made his directorial debut here.
