This
limited television series is a distant memory for most people (if, in
fact, a memory at all). It was the brainchild of horror pioneer Wes
Craven (SCREEM, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, HILLS
HAVE EYES etc). He wrote all the episodes and directed one of
the six, as well as overseeing most of the establishing shots. This
series stopped production with the start of the 1992/93 Writer's Strike
and never resumed.
After a brush with death from drowning [suicide?], Frank Nolan and Fay
Peronivic find themselves in a mysterious all-night café. But
they soon discover that - in fact - they had really died. Seemingly,
these two were 'brought back to life' by the café and
it's mysterious owner [Satan?] named Blackie. Frank and Fay are given
the opportunity (at least, theoretically) to correct something that
went wrong in their lives the first time around. Then they become the
café's new cook and waitress, as they greet other customers
who have also recently met the grim-reaper.
