A Scary Black Magic Tale from director of SICCIN

Original Turkish title:
Üç Harfliler Karabüyü [Three Letters: Black Magic]

director: Alper Mestci
starring: Seda Oguz · Ozay Fecht · Merve Ates · Metin Yildrim · Deniz Gundogou

After losing her parents, Alev decides it would be best to put all the old memories to rest by renting out the family house. However, the new tenants - a young married couple named Kadir and Diklek - soon bring utter terror into Alev's tranquil world. Kadir's mother, a jealous and conniving woman, uses black magic to make her son 'unattractive' to any woman who may find him appealing, including his wife. But the evil curse has unexpected problems for everyone - including Alev, her husband and daughter - and soon everything spins out of control resulting in a deadly denouement.

Excessive gore, violence and sleaze are not particularly unusual in Turkish Cinema (see LAST HOUSE IN ISTANBUL, HORRIBLE MURDERS and SEX AND KILLING) but most cult enthusiasts have never taken that country's cinema seriously. Director Alper Mestçi - again using the black magic formula he delivered so effectively in his SICCIN series - continues to turn Turkish Cinema on its head. Here is another slick, accomplished and [yes] scary horror movie that demands International attention among genre thriller fans.
