The
Devil has a phone number. And if you call him on your cell phone at midnight,
he will grant your wish. In return however, he will control your life
for the duration of the call. And then even worse... he subtracts minutes
from your life based on the length of the phone call. Obviously, inspired
by Takashi Miike's ONE
MISSED CALL, this one will remind the viewer of movies like WHISPERING
CORRIDORS. The premise is remarkably silly, but the girls are
cute and their teenage angst is endearing. Lead actress Yuria Haga is
Mai; she would later headline in GIRLS
BLOOD. The journalist Koide is played by genre actress Hitomi
Miwa, best known for the gross-out horror opus DIET,
EMBALMING
and SUKEBAN
HUNTER: DUEL IN HELL.
Kiyoshi
Yamamoto, the director of fringe shockers like DOLL
CEMETERY and LIZARD
BABY (both co-directed with Hideshi Hino of GUINEA
PIG fame), moved to Japanese television in 2015 where he currently
helms and produces the hit series Fainaru fantajî XIV [Final
Fantasy XIV].
